Alan D. Shoopak, D.M.D.
Dr. Shoopak attended the University of Tampa where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1979. He graduated Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston in 1982 and earned his Orthodontic Certificate there in 1984.
Dr. Shoopak is the founder of Orthodontic Specialists of Florida/New England. This is a group of orthodontic offices throughout Florida and New England, uniquely qualified to offer State-Of-The-Art orthodontic care in the most efficient, caring and professional environment, at the most affordable prices.
Dr. Shoopak is a member of the American Dental Association, The Florida Dental Association, The West Coast Dental Association, The American Association of Orthodontics, The Southern Association of Orthodontics, The Florida Association of Orthodontics, The American Academy of Head, Neck, Facial Pain and TMJ Orthopedics, The TMJ Institute of America, as well as other local and regional dental societies.

Dennis Buchman D.M.D.
Dr. Buchman attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies and then graduated from the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry in 1977. He then received his Orthodontic Certificate and Master of Science degree from West Virginia University in 1979. Dr. Buchman entered private practice in 1979 and was one of the founding doctors in Orthodontic Centers of America, Inc. He served as Executive Vice President and Board Member of OCA, Inc. from 2001 to 2007.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists and Florida Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Buchman lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife.
Daniel D. Barry, D.M.D., M.D.S.
Dr. Barry received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University and his General Dentistry Residency Certificates from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Dental School. He received his Master of Dental Science degree and Orthodontic Specialty Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Barry is a Board Certified Orthodontic Specialist by the American Board of Orthodontics, which qualifies him to treat even the most difficult orthodontic cases to the highest standard. Continuing Education is very important in Dr. Barry's career. He completes many continuing education topics every year and has authored and co-authored several articles in scientific journals.
Dr. Barry is an active member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists and Leon County Dental Society.
He is married and has two grown children, Michael and Darius. In his leisure time, he enjoys tennis, soccer and cycling.
Kenneth Kapley, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Kapley is an Honors graduate of the School of Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After a tour of duty with the United States Air Force he returned to the University achieving a Master of Science in Dentistry and Specialty Certification in the specialty of orthodontics.
Dr. Kapley is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Dental Association, the American Lingual Orthodontic Association and the Kirtland Study Group.
Leaving his private practice of 10 years in Northern Ohio, Dr. Kapley now enjoys the beach, jogging and most sports. Most of all he loves the Florida climate.
Jason D. Barlock, D.M.D.
Dr. Barlock received his Bachelors Degree from Miami University, followed by a D.M.D. from Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine. After working in private practice as a general dentist, Dr. Barlock decided to further his education, receiving his specialty certificate in orthodontics from Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Barlock is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, as well as local and regional dental associations.
Dr. Barlock enjoys sports, fishing, and the outdoors in sunny SW Florida.
James B. Hodge III, D.D.S
Dr. Hodge attended Spring Hill University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree. He received both his dental degree and Orthodontic Certificate from Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Hodge is a member of The American Association of Orthodontists, The Southern Association of Orthodontists and is also a member of The Florida Dental Association and The American Dental Association.
Dr. Hodge resides in Tampa with his wife and two children, and has been in practice since 1979.
Matthew Baker, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Baker attended Indiana University for his undergraduate studies and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University in 2006. He then pursued his post doctoral degree in Orthodontics and Dental Facial Orthopedics, and received his Master of Science Degree and Orthodontic certificate in 2008 from the St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is proficient in the early treatment for children, Adult Orthodontics, Invisalign, and patients requiring a combined Orthognathic Surgery/Orthodontic regime.
Dr. Baker received his dental license in Florida in 2006. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Manatee County Dental Society and he is on the executive board of the Charlotte County Dental Society.
His father is also an Orthodontist who practiced in Indiana for over 20 years. Dr. Baker is originally from Newburgh, Indiana and currently resides in Lakewood Ranch with his wife. In his spare time he enjoys exercising, swimming, sporting events, spending time at the beach and is active member of Harvest United Methodist Church. He prides himself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.
Leo J. Durrett, D.D.S.
With a father in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Durrett spent his early school years traveling and living around the world from Japan to the Portuguese Azores and attended almost 20 schools before starting college.
Late in high school he got the desire to be an orthodontist as the result of his own prior treatment. Living in the Midwest at the time, he then attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for his undergraduate and dental degrees. Following that was a period spent teaching dentistry at Creighton before moving to Chicago to attend the orthodontic specialty program at the University of Illinois.
With fond memories of the short time he lived there, Dr. Durrett moved to Florida from Chicago after finishing his orthodontic training. He has resided in St. Petersburg ever since with his wife, whom he met at Creighton, and 3 children who are now grown. Each attended only 2 schools before going to the University of Florida. His oldest son is practicing dentistry, the other son is an ophthalmologist, and his daughter is an orthodontist – all practice on Florida's West Coast.
Dr. Durrett spends much of his spare time developing medical and dental software programs and recreationally enjoys long bicycle excursions. He believes he spends his best times with his family including the five grandchildren.
Romia C. Goff, D.M.D.
Dr. Goff attended the Florida A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree and then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2005. He gained his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics in 2007 from Jacksonville University, School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Goff is Board Certified and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He is also an active member with the Florida Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Goff is a resident of Indian River County and is committed to quality orthodontic care.
Piero G. Palacios, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Palacios is originally from Nicaragua. He graduated from the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington Connecticut, from where he received a Master in Dental Science and a Graduate Certificate in Orthodontics, as well as an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate. His education in the principles of biomechanics and straight wire technique has honed his skills in diagnosis and treatment planning of surgical and multi-disciplinary cases. He received a doctor in dental surgery (DDS) and a bachelor science (BS) degree, from the University Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala.
Dr. Palacios studies have received numerous recognitions, he performed as chief resident while he was at UConn and his cases have been published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. He is an Invisalign premier provider and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association. In his leisure time he enjoys playing golf and squash.
Mayuri V. Patel, D.M.D.
Dr. Patel attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies and received her doctorate of dental medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2005. She then pursued her post doctoral degree in Orthodontics and received her Orthodontic certificate in 2008 from Washington Hospital Center. She is proficient in early Orthodontic treatment for children, Adult Orthodontics, Invisalign, and patients requiring a combined Orthognathic Surgery/Orthodontic regime. Dr. Patel also has substantial training with craniofacial patients, heavily focused on patients with cleft palate and cleft lip. She prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.
Dr. Patel received her dental license in Florida in 2009. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, Florida Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Patel is originally from Brandon, Florida and enjoys tennis, cooking and traveling.
Ladd M. Horvath, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Horvath received his Bachelor of Science Degree from George Washington University in 1973. He then attended Case Western Reserve University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1977, as well as a Master of Science and Orthodontic certification in 1979. After completing his training, Dr. Horvath spent 4 years on active duty with the United States Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base, as Chief of Orthodontics.
With over 25 years of experience, he is proficient in all phases of orthodontics, including early treatment for children, full orthodontic treatment for adults and children, and Invisalign®. He also has extensive experience in treating patients with skeletal problems requiring orthodontics and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Horvath is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontics, and the Southern Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Horvath resides in Niceville, Florida with his wife and enjoys spending time with his family and boating.
Keisha N. Alexander, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Keisha Alexander attended Florida International University for her undergraduate studies and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College in 2004. She then pursued her post doctoral degree in Orthodontics and Dental Facial Orthopedics, and received her Master of Science Degree and Orthodontic certificate in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is proficient in the early treatment for children, Adult Orthodontics, Invisalign, and patients requiring a combined Orthognathic Surgery/Orthodontic regime. Dr. Alexander prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.
Dr. Alexander received her dental license in Florida in 2008. She is Board Certified and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists and Florida Dental Association. She is originally from Coral Springs, Florida and resides in Tampa. She enjoys playing the piano, reading, playing tennis, swimming, working with the youth of her church and spending time with family and friends. She is committed to quality orthodontic care and helping each patient attain his or her orthodontic goals.
Nancy S. Arnold, D.M.D, M.S.D.
Dr. Arnold attended Auburn University and Mercer University for her undergraduate studies. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida Dental School in 1978 and earned her Florida State Dental License in 1978. She earned her Masters and Certificate of Advance Graduate Studies of Orthodontics in 1980 from Baylor University. She is Board Eligible, a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Southern Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Arnold has recently moved to the Ft. Walton/Pensacola area and is looking forward to becoming a viable part of our community. Dr. Arnold enjoys reading, and spending time with her family, dogs, and horses.
Doraida L Abramowitz, D.M.D., P.A.
Dr. Abramowitz received a Bachelor’s Degree from Nova Southeastern University. After finishing college she moved to Pennsylvania for her doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine in 2004. In 2005 she completed an additional post graduate year at the University of Florida receiving an AEGD certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies. Dr. Abramowitz practiced as a general dentist for a few years before returning to a post doctoral specialty program at Jacksonville University receiving a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She is proficient in the early treatment for children, Adult Orthodontics, Invisalign, and patients requiring a combined Orthognathic Surgery/Orthodontic regime. Dr. Abramowitz is fluent in Spanish and prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible.
Dr. Abramowitz is Board Eligible with the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Florida Dental Association, Polk County Dental Association and the Polk County Hispanic Club. She resides in the local community with her husband and two sons and enjoys doing yoga, jogging, reading and traveling with her family.
Mitra Parsa, D.D.S.
Dr. Parsa received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She was granted her Florida State Dental License in 1998. Dr. Parsa gained her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics in 2007 from Jacksonville University. She is Board Certified and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association.
Dr. Parsa has 15 years of experience in general dentistry and was a part time faculty member at Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics. She also was a volunteer at Jacksonville Health Department's Dental Clinic providing orthodontic evaluations. Some of her interests include volunteering at Jacksonville Health Department and teaching. Dr. Parsa is married with two children and resides in Ponte Vedra Beach.
